I will unfortunately admit that I have a Google Alert for "Nicolas Cage," leading to my inbox being flooded with anything that mentions the guy.  Usually it consists of hack newspaper critics writing generic reviews of his latest movie (currently Drive Angry 3D). 

    BUT today, among the nondescript masses shone the golden forehead of the heralded actor in what MNWKA calls:

    Now, scoff if you will, but this is no tender feat.  No, watching one of Nicolas Cage's starring performances a day, for 66 days, (in chronological order, mind you) is probably enough to drive anyone mad.  Hell, making those 66 movies is probably what drove NIC CAGE mad!  But you can read about this blogger's quest here.

    They're 6 weeks in, which is pretty impressive; but also just slightly over half-way through.  I wish MNWKA all the luck in the world, and honestly hope they're doing some Super High Me-like IQ study before, during, and after this whole thing.

    That quote comes from Nicolas Cage's agent.  And, damn, it's a sad thing to think about.  But the fact of the matter is that Cage has plummeted to joke status for a variety of reasons, notably major tax problems.

The guys at Uproxx invoked their inner Exit Through the Gift Shop and modernized some of history's most classic works of art.  

Naturally, my favorite was the Nicolas Cage-ified rendition of Vincent van Gogh's "Vase with Fifteen Sunflowers."  The manner in which the artist invokes the spirit of The Wicker Man through the use of naturalistic hues and post-impressionist Photoshop creates a tense vision of... UGHHHHHHH!  I give up, it's just funny, ok?

I got the latest issue of Gentlemen's Quarterly last week, but didn't get around to flipping through it until today.  That is when I came across an article entitled "National Treasure" by film-critic Tom Carson.  The piece tries to make sense of the zany spiral the actor has been on since his Academy Award winning role in Leaving Las Vegas.

You know a magazine is great when, right after being scolded by Glenn O'Brien over the size of your pant cuff, you can read an article describing Nicolas Cage's crazy.

In the study and practice of law, there's a prevailing theory that every person is entitled to argue their side of the story.  In fact, in most instances the Constitution makes it a protected right.  So far be it from me to continue lampooning Nicolas Cage without affording him a chance to respond.  

At the same time, I'm just an anonymous law student; so, luckily the good people at Screen Junkies got the opportunity to talk to The Man himself regarding the recent re-focusing (read: downturn) of his career.  The shocking part of it all is that he seems to be cognizant of his reputation, and goes on to defend this style of acting.
